Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long celebration of Latino culture in Chattanooga and throughout the nation. September 15 - October 15
Hispanic Heritage month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15. During this time period, La Paz Chattanooga and several other organizations from across the region will be offering special programming and activities to celebrate Latin American culture. During this time period the majority of Latin American nations will celebrate their independence or national holidays.
We hope the greater Chattanooga community will attend these events to learn more about Latino culture and join in the celebrations of our region's Latino immigrant residents as they celebrate their birth and heritage home.

6:00-7:30pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church
La Paz, in partnership with St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Chattanooga Bar Association, will co-host an event called Immigration 101 on September 12th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church from 6:00-7:30 pm. The aim of this event is to dispel myths, misinformation, and confusion about the complicated immigration system in the United States. We will have a presentation about the legal system, different types of visas, the ways that people can gain legal entry into the United States, and what it takes to become a resident/citizenship. Afterwards we will open the floor up for a general Q&A.
This event is for the general Chattanooga public and will be done in English. This might be a great opportunity to understand what our Latino families face in their immigration process.
