Position Description: Community Education and Engagement Assistant (Bilingual)

The Community Education and Engagement Assistant performs a broad variety of critical tasks for the organization, frequently in a confidential manner, as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement and Education.

Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination

  • Assists with the development, planning, and implementation of classes, programs, and outreach for the client services market

  • Responsible for program scheduling, logistics, registration, securing class materials and reporting

  • Serve as communication contact for instructors and ensure that they have information/resources needed for success

  • Help build positive relationships with team and external partners

  • Assist with communications of class events and programs including content for social media and print materials

Program Execution

  • Greet clients/visitors in a positive, helpful and pleasant manner

  • Answer calls, provide information and/or direct calls internally and take messages when needed

  • Maintain a productive and welcoming work environment for clients/visitors and staff

Program Evaluation

  • Collect client information and develop, distribute and collect surveys

  • Follow up with clients and program leaders to ensure that the needs were met and that the services provided were as anticipated and expected

  • Keep orderly logs of all surveys and data collection in order to be able to access and analyze all data received, providing reports or feedback to relevant staff of partners

The ideal candidate:

  • Bilingual English and Spanish required

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, advocacy or social service roles

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills

  • Proficiency using digital tools including Google Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Detail oriented with ability to manage a large caseload while maintaining client confidentiality

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a diverse team, under minimal supervision

  • Adaptability to meet the needs of diverse clientele

Position & Compensation: The Community Education and Engagement Assistant will start with part time hours (20 hours a week at $16/hour), with the opportunity to grow into a full time salaried position.
