Position Description: Bilingual Office and Communications Coordinator


La Paz Chattanooga is the leading Latino organization in southeast Tennessee. Our team is

bilingual, bicultural and skilled at meeting the needs of, and engaging with, the diverse Latino

community. La Paz Chattanooga seeks an additional team member that holds a commitment to the advancement of the Latino community. Complete verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English is required.


Reception - First Impressions

● Welcome guests in a positive, helpful and welcoming manner and direct/announce them

appropriately.

● Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources.

● Manage multiple phone lines, texts and emails: answer, screen and forward all calls/texts as

indicated.

● Provides light case management services (faxing paperwork, providing information for resources available, ability to fill out simple forms, providing necessary/basic guiding information).

● Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources and provide limited services to clients.

● Serves as a liaison between clients and case managers.

● Maintain calendar and set appointments for case management team

● Protects client information in a safe and confidential manner using secure database tools.

● Maintains a productive and welcoming work environment for clients/visitors and staff.

● Build positive relationships with team and external partners.


Administration - Facility Support

● Ensure the office runs smoothly by ordering supplies and managing repair and maintenance

professionals.

● Manage facility usage and calendar (and maintain facility in order to assure that it is

continuously ready for use).

● Coordinate in house classes, workshops and events including problem-solving, welcoming

guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors and

collecting participant fees


Programmatic Communications & Marketing (Spanish)

● Liaise with departmental heads to develop communication plans.

● Manage social media accounts for clients/customers (Facebook, What’s App, Text Request).

● Design and manage content for all program marketing materials (calendars, flyers, etc).

● Manage miscellaneous communication efforts for programming and services (informational

videos, promotional/highlight videos etc.).


The Ideal Candidate:

● Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and have knowledge of Latino culture/community

● Excellent written & verbal communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and compelling style.

● Proven track record of running successful social media campaigns, and increasing subscribers and engagement.

● Demonstrated ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods and

approaches.

● Ability to analyze the effectiveness of all marketing and communications efforts.

● Ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects, activities, and actions with competing deadlines and levels of urgency.

● Highly organized, self-motivated, professional, and able to manage details.

● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

● Able to perform duties requiring independent judgment with minimum supervision

● Basic computer skills and knowledge of standard office practices, principals and methods.

● Understanding and working knowledge of social media platforms and design software


Position & Compensation: The Bilingual Office and Communications Coordinator is a full time

role earning $33,280 a year. Additionally La Paz provides a health and communications stipend of $350 a month totaling $4,200 annually.
