Fernando’s Restaurant

Fernando Palomino and Kristy Rivera Palomino

Owned and operated by Fernando and Kristy Palomino, Fernando’s Restaurant in East Ridge is known for its wide-ranging, made-from-scratch menu and a long-standing commitment to serving the local community.

Fernando Palomino came to the United States from Zacatecas, Mexico at the age of twelve. After arriving, he worked various jobs and began building a career in the restaurant industry—starting as a dishwasher and working his way up to chef, kitchen manager, and eventually restaurant owner. In 2006, he partnered with friends to open a restaurant in East Ridge. Ten years later, he launched Fernando’s Restaurant independently on June 4, 2016.

Fernando met his wife Kristy while both were working at Portofino’s in East Ridge. Over the years, they have opened several restaurants together, including Family Table, Fernando’s East Ridge, and Fernando’s Ringgold. Throughout their time as business owners, they have aimed to provide employment opportunities for people from a range of Latino backgrounds and to maintain a workplace rooted in mutual respect and collaboration.

The Palominos are hands-on employers who take an active role in both their business and in supporting their team both inside and outside of the restaurant–offering financial assistance and other personal support, such as helping with housing, transportation, and emergency needs.

Jacinto’s Auto Sale

Sergio and Rosalya Jacinto

Jacinto’s Auto Sales is a family-owned used car dealership operated by Sergio and Rosalya Jacinto, with locations in Cleveland and Chattanooga. The business was founded nearly ten years ago with the goal of offering reliable vehicles and straightforward service, and has since grown into a multi-location operation serving customers throughout the region.

Originally from Mexico, Sergio Jacinto immigrated to the United States and worked various jobs before opening his first car lot. His path to business ownership involved overcoming personal and professional challenges. Today, faith plays a central role in his work and decision-making. That commitment is visible not only in how he runs the business, but also in his involvement in charitable and community-based efforts. With the support of fellow pastors, he has helped establish a foundation in Mexico focused on supporting orphanages, improving access to education, and providing resources to families. In the U.S., he has partnered with local organizations, such as Olivencia & Cribben, to support immigrant communities through outreach and awareness.

The dealership has received several recognitions over the years, including nominations in “Chattanooga’s Best of the Best,” business awards in Cleveland, and acknowledgments from dealer auctions. Described as welcoming and easy to work with, the staff have established a reputation of clarity and support. Jacinto’s is a business built on relationships – Sergio is known for treating staff as extended family and supporting them both personally and professionally. For many involved in the business, including family members, Jacinto’s Auto Sales represents more than just a dealership—it reflects a set of values shaped by faith, perseverance, and a desire to create opportunity for others.
