Comunidad, We’ve been enjoying the summer while still working hard to bring resources and service access to our Latino residents. We kicked off the summer with our 3rd Annual Block Party!
Thank you to our sponsors and organizational partners for sharing your resources with guests and bridging the gap between language and community. We can’t wait for next year’s celebration!
We've been expanding and improving our services, educational programs and advocacy initiatives to continue building more collaborative impact across our city. See what we're up to next!:

ORGANIZATION UPDATES
NEW TEAM MEMBERS This summer we were thrilled to have Daniela Duran, a rising senior at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga join us as our Communications Intern! She was such an asset to the La Paz team that we are now excited to share that she has officially joined us as our part-time Communications Specialist! Stay tuned on social media for some of her digital outreach work. ¡Bienvenida, Dani! We’re also excited to have Natalia Quiñones from Southern Adventist University join as our Social Work intern for the next school year. ¡Bienvenida, Natalia!
MAGAZINE FEATURES We’ve had not one, not two, but THREE magazine features this summer of some of our amazing leadership team! Our Executive Director, Stacy Johnson, had a cover feature on HealthScope in June; our Communications & Development Manager, Lily Sanchez, made this year’s Chatter Magazine 20 Under 40 List, and our Social Impact Director, Vivian Lozano is a member of this year’s CityScope Magazine Gold Club!
TU VOZ SURVEY
We launched our Community Needs Assessment, Tu Voz, over the summer and we’re still collecting surveys! If you’re a Latino in our area, complete the survey to receive a prize tote bag and help us improve our services, programs and advocacy initiatives. ¡Haz que cuente tu voz!
NEW PARTNERSHIP We’re happy to announce that we’ve added a new service partner to our roster: Advocates for Immigrant Rights will have an immigration attorney in the La Paz offices once a week to do low-cost legal consultations.
WE’RE HIRING!
La Paz is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and friendly bilingual individual to take on the role of Programs & Outreach Coordinator! Interested in applying? Check out our blog for the listing. ¡Hasta la próxima! - The La Paz Team
