Position Title: Education Coordinator
Reports to: Senior Director of Education & Engagement
Salary grade: $30,240 - $45,360
POSITION PURPOSE:
La Paz Chattanooga is the leading Latino organization in southeast Tennessee. Our team is bilingual, bicultural, and skilled at meeting the needs of and engaging with the diverse Latino community. The Education Coordinator plays a vital role in educating and informing the Latino community to empower individuals through knowledge and resources. By creating culturally relevant curriculum materials and providing support to instructors and volunteers, the coordinator aims to enhance the learning experience for participants.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Education Coordinator works under the Community Education and Engagement (CEE) Director and closely with the CEE team to build, implement and execute education and training programs supporting Chattanooga’s Latino community. The position will support our constituents while working to address the significant resource and knowledge gaps and mitigate the language and cultural barriers that impact effective community integration. The role requires a collaborative team player who is highly motivated and organized with excellent communication skills, demonstrates the creativity and strategic mindset to develop, implement and oversee new programs, the ability to build trust and confidence among constituents and possesses proven project management skills. Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Positions La Paz Chattanooga as a recognized, trusted, and reliable voice providing services in the Latino community in Chattanooga
• Oversees the coordination and completion of educational programming and other projects on time within budget and scope
• Builds trust in Latino community to secure participants for educational classes, training programs and workshops
• Monitors emerging community needs and work with La Paz staff and external partners to develop appropriate training and educational content to address concerns and needs
• Builds and maintains relationships to support existing education efforts, develop certification training programs and secure training partnerships
• Supports case managers and other staff in proposing and developing new training content
• Represents La Paz at community meetings and events as requested
• Maintain comprehensive records of all educational sessions, including participant feedback and performance metrics, to inform future programming decisions.
• Track and evaluate the effectiveness of classes and training programs, ensuring alignment with community needs and organizational goals.

• Quality Control – Must have a focus on producing excellent internal and external customer service by establishing and maintaining a high-level standard of excellence through timeliness, attention to detail, consistency, follow-through, efficiency, self-awareness and proofing one’s own work and that of others.
• Language and Culture – Must be able to fluently speak English and Spanish and have lived experience and/or deep knowledge of Latino culture and community
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years’ experience in a similar environment, exhibit a deep knowledge of Latino culture and community, with experience in building effective collaboration, managing a project or initiative to completion. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus. The successful candidate will have proven experience in a variety of business-related technologies, including G-suite or similar productivity software, strong bilingual communication skills and a demonstrated track-record of producing results against goals, meeting aggressive timelines, prioritizing complex responsibilities, and maintaining high attention to detail.
Schedule and Compensation:
La Paz Chattanooga's staff working hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Education Coordinator is required to organize and adapt their work schedule to ensure the successful execution of ongoing programming both during and outside of La Paz office hours of operation (Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.).
The compensation range for this position is $30,240 - $45,360, commensurate with experience.
